This is my first ever blog and I'll do my best to portray my feelings about our savior. (who'd you think of?)
The more and more I read these days I am appalled by the attack on religion by our federal and local governments.
The first thing I want to point out is the fact that nowhere in our constitution does it say there is to be a separation of church and state. More accurately...
The
separation of church and state is a legal and political principle derived from the
First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads, "
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . ." The phrase "separation of church and state" is generally traced to an 1802 letter by
Thomas Jefferson to the
Danbury Baptists, where Jefferson spoke of the combined effect of the
Establishment Clause and the
Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. It has since been quoted in several opinions handed down by the
United States Supreme Court.

That last part is what is destroying our country. Every time we turn around the USSC is changing the constitution based on their opinions not what our consitution says.
Although the ACLU wants you to believe that no God should be present at any public events or government events such as schools and in our Government offices this is really an attack on Christianity, not any other religion. In fact every 'other' religion is being protected including the right to wear headscarves in schools and anywhere else they please. Special prayer times at work and all kinds of things that the Christian is chastised for. Go ahead, tuck your bible in with your school books, it's treated like drug paraphernalia ... your bible in school..heaven forbid..."you're pushing your religion on me... I don't want to see your bible. That cross around your neck, put it under your shirt. Purity ring? What's that mean? It means I want to be faithful and save my virginity for marriage. Isn't that a relious thing? Yes, I believe in Jesus and this is what he tells me to do. Oh Wow, I don't want to see that. Take it off."
